Patient Education

CML Alliance includes patient resource initiatives to educate enrolled patients and their families on living with CML, the importance of regular monitoring, side effect management, and the importance of adherence to targeted therapy.

Where permissible under local laws and regulations, patients who enroll in CML Alliance will receive a patient resource pack, which will include materials that will discuss the following:

  • How Glivec® works and why it is important to take as prescribed
  • What patients may expect from treatment with CML targeted therapy
  • Why regular testing is necessary to monitor CML treatment and what the results of the different tests mean
  • Tips for living with Ph+ CML
  • Where to find support

Patients will also receive a tablet organizer/color-coded clock to help them remember to take Glivec as prescribed.

In addition, CML patients will have access to a local helpline and the option of receiving SMS text messages or e-mail to remind them about doctor/hospital appointments and/or taking their Glivec targeted therapy.

Please contact your local Novartis representative for the CML Alliance patient enrollment package.
